GOP Should Not Run Dem Party!
Sept. 24, 2004
When the Democrats established a rule that states could not hold their primary elections for Presidential candidates early or they would lose their delegates to the Democrat national convention, the Republicans laughed.
Once again, the state of Florida is having some serious effects on our democratic processes for electing a President. In the past it was the hanging chads and the controversy over counting votes that eventually resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court deciding issues that caused George W. Bush to be sworn in as President.
Now a Republican governor and a Republican state legislature have ordered the Florida Democrats to have a primary election contrary to the Democrat party’s own rules. With both Dem front-runners - Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton having been on the Florida ballot, the votes of Floridians are now being ignored. The Democrats, so anxious to follow their own rules, are throwing out all those Florida votes - and the Republicans are laughing.
The situation was similar in Michigan, but there the Democrat party called the shots and all the candidates were not on the ballot. They have to pay the price for ignoring their own party rules.
But the Florida delegates should be seated and their votes counted - or the Republicans get to laugh and laugh and laugh as they make a mockery of the democratic process!
